E07 – Good Bones: Creating a Master Plan for a Healthier and More Sustainable Future
This presentation investigates three senior living projects and their individually innovated and successful solutions for their master plan and urban design. The three case studies are in the U.S. and China and deal with new sustainable site designs including sustainable measurement standards in their ever-growing urban environments. The WELL Community Standard and LEED for Neighborhood Development provide design guidelines to influence individuals throughout public spaces where they spend their days. The new designs are integrated into neighborhoods and facilitate a strong community identity, fostering high levels of social interaction and engagement for people in their surrounding areas.
