E21 – Raising the Roof: The Dos and Don’ts of Creating a High-Rise for Seniors

As baby boomers look for housing as they age, they’re asking for new ideas that allow for safety and security but also connection to the fabric of the greater community. One rising option is the urban tower. This presentation provides an understanding of how this generation has shifted the way we design and build senior living communities, which is paramount to understanding the desire to move toward a high-rise design. Attendees will receive specific case study examples on what to do and what not to do when going vertical and will examine creative ways to incorporate mixed-use design ideas into the building to harness the power of the community to make the building successful.
