DESCRIPTION:As Baby Boomers and Gen X approach retirement\, senior living communities must evolve to meet new expectations for comfort\, independence\, and modern design. This session explores how one outdated senior living community underwent a bold transformation-inside and out-to create a welcoming\, wellness-focused environment that resonates with the next wave of residents. Panelists include an ASID\, CHID certified healthcare interior designer\, an executive director\, and a resident who experienced the renovation firsthand. Together\, they'll share real-world insights from a case study project\, including strategies for integrating biophilic design\, lighting to support aging eyes\, fall risk mitigation\, and customizable interiors. Special focus will be placed on fostering resident dignity and choice through inclusive\, cost-conscious design. Participants will leave with practical strategies for updating aging communities\, increasing appeal\, and successfully introducing new design concepts to existing residents.
