SUMMARY:E05 &#8211\; Sound Investment: From Distressed to Distinguished
DESCRIPTION:After a high-profile bankruptcy filing that was featured in the New York Times\, CBS News and a number of Senior Living publications\, a continuing care retirement community was purchased by a private equity firm in 2025. A subsequent rebrand with a new name and new operational model were the first steps in transforming the community. With a $54 million commitment to renovations\, new design concepts are currently underway that will transform The Sinclair at Port Washington back into a Class A community for both legacy residents and the next generation of seniors. Attendees will hear perspectives from the developer\, operator and design team about intricacies of acquiring\, rebranding and repositioning a distressed CCRC asset using examples from the project currently underway at The Sinclair as a case study.
